Life is complex, this we know. However very few people ask, “why?”. Perhaps its that you have 6.8 billion unique people with distinct methods of interaction. Perhaps its the 8 different personality types with a combination of a unique social upbringing. Perhaps it just is complex.

I’m not about to go into the philosophical discussion into the meaning behind life’s complexity, but I will illustrate this process in at least one bit, my personal technological life. Usually once a year, I go through everything in my life, in depth, to identify anything that doesn’t work. Last years big one was consolidating my on-line life into 2 distinct categories: professional and personal. It came about from identifying 2 distinct persona’s, God’s Advice, the artist, and Martin Henderson, the business leader. This year, many of the changes will fall along the same lines.

Right now, this is the breakdown of the two catagories:

This month, I am going to refine the meaning/purpose of each one of these components. Ideally, each one should have an update policy, a unified theme within type, and a clear audience focus. When this is in place, it will let me work on the specific interconnects between each site.

Currently, everything feeds into my Life Stream, and my blogs/Facebook/Myspace are cross posting with twitter. These 2 simple interconnects have expanded my web presence while simplifying my site updates. Within this, I can define the purpose of each component within 3 categories: Content Creation, Content Distribution, Content Consolidation.
